Hi. I am the Forums Administrator. All the Forums here run on my RS/6000 server.

My VS work began in 1984 and has been split 50/50 between systems and applications projects. Since 1998 I have been involved with VS and RS/6000 hardware and RAID. Since 2000 I have concentrated on COBOL ReSource, a package that facilitates moving VS COBOL and Assembler applications to IBM and HP unix without source code translation and without giving up the important VS look and feel features. Altogether I've been designing and writing software for 40 years in a variety of languages on a number of platforms.

SCSI and RAID are significant specialties here. I regularly configure RAID on large and small VS systems and on IBM RS/6000 systems. All of this stemmed from working with COBOL ReSource, where RAID enhances performance and fault tolerance in RS/6000 systems and provides a path for migration of data from VS to RS/6000.

I work closely with the official maintainer of COBOL ReSource and provide presale and postsale support services for VS sites migrating to COBOL ReSource. I was responsible for causing VS emulation to be integrated into COBOL ReSource and for developing the techniques we now use to read VS disk drives in unix for direct file movement to COBOL ReSource.

If you are grappling with "Life After Wang" issues, if you need to stabilize your VS, if you have storage needs, or if you simply want to get started migrating your applications to unix, you should contact me. Products and services include:
