The utility is now available from Wang. The Wang Support Center is supposed to know about it. They didn't when I had a client call them a few weeks ago, and I followed up and made Jim Gary aware that they are supposed to have the utility.

If I recall correctly, DISKUSE will crash with 2gb drives if they are so empty or so full that the number of free or allocated blocks exceeds the display field size. 4gb drives always crash DISKUSE.

DISKUSE also has trouble with device numbers over 255, though I cannot say for sure that it affects both the workstation device number (I know this to be the case if you press Enter on a volume to see libraries) and the disk device number. Since the program appears to precede the advent of large device numbers this problem could surface with either type of device depending on just how it accesses the volume information.

The new utility, turned over to Wang in August, handles large device numbers and up to 256 disk volumes. It does not provide library and file info display because those functions are superceded by better ones in MANAGER. It recognizes volume sets and displays the information the system makes available, which does not include one of the key block statistics. It recognizes and suppresses display of RSF shared volumes. I was going to make this last a pfkey toggle, but I don't know whether Wang actually changed or updated any of the program function.

Let me know if you have any difficulty getting your Wang contacts to recognize the availability of the utility and I'll pass word to Tewksbury.
