Looks like your PC's date is off by a bit.

What??!! The web server?

Yes, though not as hard as I could be. I took a week off to attend InterACTION 97 and meet with Wang people, and the preparation beforehand and recuperation and resynch afterward made it more like two weeks of lost time. Then there has been a certain amount of work on the server demo and its files, the interaction between the VS and the PC that is doing limited IP routing to pass the VS traffic to and from the Internet, and more. None of that directly contributes to the final product.

I'm finally working on the production server, though. Before begining I had to work out intertask memory mapping and subtasking, things with which I had had no direct programming experience in the VS. I still haven't unravelled all the secrets of how Wang manages to have several tasks handling inbound telnet (VS TCP/IP only allows a single task to post LISTENs for a given TCP port number), so I'm proceeding without that information.

Interesting! That sounds like an assembly language project.

It's not far off now. One new development is that I have an understanding with Wang that we will proceed along the lines of Wang acquiring the Web Server and bundling it for maintenance customers just like they're already doing in 7.53 with EVAS, SAM and IWSCORE. That *implies* a bundled TCP/IP, which I would very much like to see, but there's no definite word on any of this yet.

I plan to offer an eval product just as soon as it is practical. That may even be a version of the present demo, because even with only a single TCP/IP connection possible it is still quite useful for experimenting with PACE and other interfaces.

Regards,

Thomas Junker
