Subject: SNEAK ATTACKS ON THE VS

A number of people have written to me seeking support for undermining the VS. Some have been open about it while others have sought to couch their information mining in less threatening terms.
Before the summer of 2000 I was the most visible and stalwart defender of the VS realm in the world. After that time I accepted the fact that Getronics was not going to make any real effort to keep the VS viable or to take it forward technologically, and I modified my position to advocate migration to COBOL ReSource in cases in which continued operation of the VS was not feasible or desirable for one reason or another.
This thread contains some of the responses I have made through the years to sneak attacks on the VS.
