I place the server on the public Internet at irregular times, announced in an email list I maintain. Send a message to me with the Subject set to "subscribe websched" (no quotes, of course) and you will receive notices when the server is placed on line and taken off line. I would offer to put it up right now except I am walking out the door.

Wang already has an SMTP server in their TCP/IP product. It interfaces directly to Wang Office, allowing WO users to send Internet (or intranet) email and to receive the same. I believe SBA also may have some TCP/IP server software, though theirs is incompatible with Wang's because it runs in an outboard gateway PC (faster and less overhead, perhaps, but less well integrated by its nature).

Wang TCP/IP also has a full API set allowing the use of TCP connections from COBOL, BASIC, etc.

When I have the VS Web Server in production I plan to turn my attention to RPC (Remote Procedure Call), which then automatically opens the door to NFS drive mapping between the VS and other TCP/IP platforms including unix and Windoes PC boxes.

You're very welcome! Give me an indication of when you might be able to visit the server over the Internet and I will try to arrange to put it on line for you to see. Morning or very late evening is best for me. There is a "visit the web server" link in the News section of my Unofficial Wang VS Information Center website. It leads to a server status page. When the server is not on the air the page is red and has no active link. When the server is on the air the page is light blue and automatically redirects in 10 seconds to the dynamic address of the server. That page is maintained by the VS, by the way, and posted to my ISP website when the VS comes up and before it goes down.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I appreciate your interest and your communication.
